Wizard101 Avalon Fish School, Location, XP, Rank, and Tank Size Guide

Wizard101's latest Test Realm reveals new fish in Avalon! There's a larger variety than usual, and some pretty epic fishing spots in one of the game's most well-loved worlds. Locations and schools are particularly important this update, because the new fish come with a new quest that requires catching many of them. A Royal Retreat

There are few places more epic than Avalon. Its medieval theme is hard to top, and its variety of locations offers something for everyone. You can fish the peaceful waters of Caliburn or Caer Lyon, or go for something more mysterious in the waters of the Wyrd or Dun Dara. My personal favorite fishing spot is also in one of my favorite locations in the game: Lake Shore. The magical path through the water gives you very direct access to fish. They can even swim on the path.

Quick Tips

A lot of the fish you need to catch will be available in multiple locations. I include the locations I have confirmed and/or feel are best for catching the fish, but don't hesitate to look around. What's nice about so many of these is that they'll be the only fish of their school in certain locations, which means they're pretty easy to spot.

Avalon has more new fish than usual, but the ones they're mixed with are often common and basic types found across the Spiral. These filler fish are usually low rank, so if you are looking for a new one, you can search for the correct school then reveal lower rank fish to separate out the new ones.

Which lure do I use? Look at the school first, and then the rank. You should use that rank of that school lure to try and catch that fish.
