Wizard101 Seasonal Fish School & Location Guide

As the number of seasonal fish in Wizard101 grows, the list also grows more and more expansive. I've decided to separate out the seasonal fish in an easy-to-navigate list of its own, including additions of all of the most recent fish, the Stubby Sharks.

The New Routine

We've now rotated through the entire year a couple times since fishing was released in 2014, but we've had new additions on multiple occasions. It may be that we'll continue to see new seasonal fish added every year. However, with all four seasonal fish out, fish for different holidays available, and a lot of birthday fish, I'd say we're looking at a pretty solid lineup of rotating fish throughout the year. We'll have to keep our eyes open for new additions.

Stubby School Sharks

Bringing the seasonal fish total now to 24 are seven new school-based sharks swimming in the waters of the Spiral. These new sharks are part of a September promotion for Wizard101's birthday throughout the month. This makes September a prime time for fish enthusiasts to hit fishing hard, with the potential for a lot of bonus experience available from the sharks if they've never caught them before.

This also allows new fishermen to pace themselves. There are a lot of fish that are tough to catch (for me it was the Errol Fynn in particular), and now besides those initial releases, there are different fish to catch throughout the year.

About Seasonal Fish

Seasonal fish are only available specific times of the year - hence the name. Some are for promotions and events and others are for actual seasons. For example, the Cold Cod, Springfish, Basking in the Sun Shark, and Fall Foliage fish correspond with the seasons - when one goes away, the next is available. Others may appear for a specific day or celebration, like Valentine's Day. However, fish are rarely available for only one day and usually stick around for at least the whole month.

Seasonal fish are typically caught in world "hubs" - the main location within a world that you teleport home to. In Wizard City, it's the Common, Krokotopia is the Oasis, Mooshu is the Jade Palace, Grizzleheim is Northguard, and Zafaria is the Baobab Crossroads. Most all seasonal fish, even where not listen, are available in the Wizard City, Krokotopia, Mooshu, and Grizzleheim hubs. Recently, fish have been added to the Zafaria hub. This fishing list provides recommended fishing locations, but fish are sometimes also available elsewhere. For example, the new Stubby Sharks can be caught in their respective school houses.

Note: These fish are only caught during specific times of the year, and if that promotion is not running, you will not be able to catch it. Those events are listed with the fish. These fish are sorted by time of year.

Which lure do I use? Look at the school first, and then the rank. You should use that rank of that school lure to try and catch that fish.
